BREEAM promotes more sustainable construction which results in financial savings, and health and environmental benefits for all those people who have a connection with a building (owners, tenants, promoters, visitors and property administrators), at the same time as it transfers the company’s Corporative Social Responsibility to society and the market in an unequivocal and transparent way.
The certificate improves the running, flexibility and durability of the buildings. What’s more, BREEAM is the only certificate with a 99% success rating. Apart from reducing energy consumption, BREEAM aims to minimise CO2 emissions throughout the life of the building. Some examples of this approach are access to public transport, promoting the use of bicycles, waste storage prior to collection, use of coolants and insulation with low-level potential for global warming, and heating systems with low NOX emissions.
